What Is Ugeddit?

Ugeddit (you-get-it) is chat communities helping people be heard, and feel connected

With the rise of the Internet and social media, people’s behaviours and mindsets have been getting more isolated, toxic, and hateful. This is because companies have been prioritizing any kind of engagement to increase revenue, which has been reinforcing harmful echo chambers and hate-fueled conflict

The solution to this is facilitating helpful interaction by reminding people of their positive intentions, and how to communicate them effectively, so that everyone improves their ability to interact with purpose and create a better world

• Our Discord community is focusing on sharing resources, support, and events about social & people skills, relationships, and more that people can use to master their communication, confidence, and lives
• Our mobile app (currently on hold) is designed to help people interact more purposefully, and highlight people’s positive intentions, so everyone is given the benefit of the doubt, leading to more helpful interactions

• Is someone who dislikes arguments and negativity
• Notices many arguments online, even between friends
• Often worries that things she says might be taken the wrong way or judged

• Faciliating engagement (You can do these yourself, and you can train volunteers to help)

    • Given a “first step” to gain value around social skills and communication
  • Ensuring existing users have
    • One or more people in the server with whom they enjoy positively interacting
    • Clarity of their next step on their communication learning and growth journey
  • When & where appropriate, reminding people of ideal behaviours that promote helpful interaction
• Moderation

  • Onboarding people to roles if they fulfill all the role’s requirements

    • You can onboard members to roles to help you with Facilitating engagement and any other non-administrative functions (observing chats, etc)

  • Offboarding people from roles if they are regularly (2x or more)

    • Exhibiting behaviours inconsistent with our values
    • Behaving in ways unbecoming of their roles, or
    • Not fulfilling their role’s responsibilities

  • Promoting people to higher-ranked roles if they are verifiably

    • Contributing value beyond their role, and
    • Fulfilling all of the higher role’s prerequisites

  • Demoting people to lower-ranked roles if they are regularly (2x or more)

    • Not fulfilling their role’s responsibilities
